Mayor David Overacre never accepted the $900 per month salary. When Mayor Overacre took office in January 2008, he accepted a $600 per month salary and the City Council voted 3 - 1 in favor of lowering the salary by ordinance in August 2011. (Council Women Mitzi Cheldelin voted against lowering the Mayor's salary)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF KIMBERLY, IDAHO, ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES OF ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KIMBERLY, IDAHO, THAT:
Section 1 – Mayor and Council Salaries. Commencing January 1, 2012, the salaries of the Mayor and of the members of the City Council of the City of Kimberly, Idaho, shall be as follows:
a. The Mayor of the City of Kimberly, Idaho, shall receive a monthly salary in the sum of Six Hundred and No/100ths Dollars ($600.00).
b. Each member of the Kimberly City Council shall receive a monthly salary in the sum of Five Hundred and No/100ths Dollars ($500.00).
