Train Travel was the main means of transportation from Kimberly to Twin Falls and to Minidoka. The first train run was from Minidoka to Buhl. Under the Carry Act passed in 1894 and amended in 1896 and 1901, grants to certain states were not to exceed 1,000,000 acres of unappropriated public lands, desert in character, if said state could prove that an ample supply of water is actually furnish in a substantial ditch or canal to reclaim a particular tract without regard to settlement or cultivation came into being. This is an OSL engine with a wooden cab that ran into Milner, Oakley and Kimberly from 1905-1910.
